I visited Amsterdam again recently and wanted to add a few more places to the list that I started the last time I was there.
ATELIERAMSTRDM is a great little boutique. They carry leather bags and accessories under their own namesake and also carry some clothing. It’s a very clean and minimalist layout, allowing you to focus on the clothes.
My favorite part about the shop was their sunglasses. They carry all vintage, never worn sunglasses from brands like Dior and Carrera. They are in impeccable condition and are clearly from a time when detail was key. No two were alike. It was the most impressive collection of vintage sunglasses I have seen.
The classic white and blue signature of Delft ceramics is unmistakable. You can find Delftware around Amsterdam in various shops. I love the way the blue pops off of the white, it’s really beautiful.
Gekaapt is a clothing and home goods store that recently opened in the Magna Plaza. They carry a lot of locally made products from local brands.
This one too.
Rosmarijnsteeg is another couple of blocks of shops that are really cute and unique. Definitely stop in to Nunc if you’re in the area.
We heard about a speakeasy that happened to be right down the street from our hotel. You’d never know it was there unless you were looking for it (which I guess is the point of a speakeasy, right?) We were able to get in one night and tried a few rounds of their handcrafted cocktails. One of which was served in a hollowed out rams horn (!).
