Make Valentine’s Day about you and your friends with a mini DIY spa package for each of your lady friends.
You will need:
-spa mask (I prefer the sheet masks, they are less messy than mud masks. Bonus points if it’s made in Korea, they know their sh*t when it comes to beauty products.)
-mini wine bottles (most liquor stores have several options sold in 4-packs)
-chocolates or candy
*If you want to make your own decorative box, you will need:
-regular cardboard box, preferably the right size to hold your spa gifts
-wrapping paper or kraft paper
-ribbon, twine or other add ons to decorate your box
Start by cutting the flaps off of your box. Cut the box to your preferred height if necessary.
Cut a piece of wrapping paper big enough to wrap over the edges and into the inside of your box.
Crease the paper at an angle off of one corner of the box.
Fold the angled corner in towards the end of the box and tape it from the inside so it stays.
Repeat on all sides. Try to keep the paper as tight to the box as possible.
Once all corners have been creased and taped: fold the paper over the top edge of the box on all sides.
Trim as necessary and tape the edges of the paper to the inside of the box so they lay tight and flat.
To decorate the outside of your box: take some ribbon or twine and wrap it around the top edge of the box several times. Tie a knot at the front of the box and leave some extra string at the ends. Trim any excess.
Loop a few extra pieces of ribbon or twine around the knotted twine, to hide the knot.
If you’re using twine, untwist each piece of twine to make it look fuller. If you’re using ribbon, use scissors to curl the ends.
I used some accent string to give a bit of a color pop. Wrap the string around the base of the twine knot and tie a knot to secure it in place.
I found some great cut out hearts at HomeGoods, so I used one of those to enhance the Valentine’s feel of the box.
Tie the heart onto the tassel using the decorative string. Tie a knot under the heart so you can’t see it.
Your box is now ready to go!
Arrange all of your gifts in the box except the candy/chocolate.
Add the crinkle paper around each item so it helps it all to stay in place. Add your candy/chocolate on top of the crinkle paper. That’s it!
I was able to make the above box for under $15. If you’re making several, you’d be able to do a smaller version with one mini bottle of wine, one face mask, one candle and some chocolate for around $10. Happy Valentine’s/Galentine’s Day!
